by the New England Waterworks Association. This critical service is provided as an extra benefit to the customers of Advanced Fire Protection. With proper scheduling, this service can be combined with other services, saving you money, as well as the need to call in other specialists.
The training to provide this service is intensive. The following is a synopsis of the training regimen which leads to certification:

- Basic hydraulic principles of backflow
- Control of cross connections
- Roles of the EPA, state and federal government, water system purveyors and others in the control of cross connections.
- Types of cross connections
- Identification of backflow prevention devices
- Use and function of backflow prevention devices
- Testing and troubleshooting of backflow prevention devices
- Completing required report forms
